Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel, and jazz into his distinctive style. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real the name of Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she started her musical career by singing and playing the piano in the church. She studied at Spellman College and began to master the R&B styles of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan; it has been remixed since by numerous producers and is a staple of her live sets. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. In 2005 she took on the role of the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as Choral Director of Dreamgirls which was a stage production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
